ARPA: Business Facade Program
The ARPA Business Façade grant program will provide grants of up to $25,000 to tenants and property owners for exterior improvements made to their buildings. Eligible costs shall include hard costs relating to comprehensive exterior renovations of existing office, retail, manufacturing or industrial buildings. This initiative will impact the city by improving the aesthetics, increasing property values and adding to the tax base.

ARPA: Business Resiliency & Technical Assistance
This program will be accomplished in partnership with the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce through the continuance of the Business Academy which provides free small business support directly to local businesses. The assistance includes business resiliency tools such as succession planning, cybersecurity and disaster preparedness. Social medias training, leadership development and financial planning are also topics covered by the program. In addition, several platforms will be utilized to provide real-time data to businesses to assist with their retention and growth.

Develop Retail Strategies (previously Retail Strategies Engagement)
The city has a significant amount of retail leakage. To alleviate this issue, a retail recruitment strategy is being developed. Staff utilizing Buxton to identify retail gaps and potential opportunities to fill those gaps. Finding the right retail mix and density is essential for a community seeking to create a sense of place for residents, businesses and visitors.

Support Cornerstone Development Project (2019-2022) (Ongoing)
In 2018, a private developer acquired the Financial Plaza building and parking lot on the southwest corner of University Drive and Sample Road and construction is underway for large mixed-use project called Cornerstone. The project is a component of the city’s vision for walkable downtown and will serve as a catalyst for additional redevelopment in the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).
