Creating a connection to engage a diverse community that is often misunderstood and overlooked to provide resources and enhance veteran welfare.
Resolution for committee to be brought to Commission in August for formal adoption. First meeting to be held in October. Committee will consist of twelve members of veteran or active serving and three non-veteran or non-active members.
7/29/25: met with Anthony Guzman from P&R who will be the Staff Liaison to the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs and CSPD Captain Robert Cherry who will be the Staff Liaison to the Veteran's Committee. Goals and Objectives were discussed along with Boards, Committee, Groups Manual process for new members. We will be meeting with Tony Bianco from Veterans Coalition during the first week of September for introductions and further discussion on the Veteran's Committee. Anthony, Captain Cherry, and Myself will attend the September 15th Veteran's Coalition meeting to discuss the new Veteran's Committee. The first meeting to share information about the Veteran's Committee will be on October 7th. Interested committee members be provided with the goals and objectives for the newly formed Veteran's Committee and provided with the link to apply for a position.
