Initiative description coming soon.

Due to the ongoing restrictions of the pandemic, more Youth programs are now being facilitated virtually to support the needs of our Community. The Importance of Voting Poster Contest and MLK Art Contest each had over 160 entries and were supported by a virtual submission and gallery process to support voting/judging of exhibits. Additionally, winners of both contests are being publicly recognized by our elected officials at virtual City Commission meetings. Starting in 2021, the monthly Commission Connection program will now be delivered through Zoom to allow for greater participation and MLK celebration weekend will include a virtual high school youth leadership training for the Monday program.  Additionally, planning is underway for the annual Teen Political Forum event and National Day of Prayer program both will continue on a virtual platform again this year. These efforts demonstrate how Community Relations is working to support youth engagement and retain programs during the coming year.
