While the global COVID-19 pandemic has delayed our Entertainment Destination Strategy, the goal is to provide events that appeal to the younger generation; these include live entertainment, art, food trucks, health, wellness and social interaction. While events are paused or re-imagined due to COVID-19, planning continues on ways to improve upon the variety, quality and safety of gatherings in Coral Springs – so that when it is safe to resume in-person events, staff will be prepared. The Cornerstone project, Amphitheater and event planning all have a role in shaping the strategic plan to have people visit, live and work in Coral Springs.

Staff created a marketing plan to the downtown area and strategy for hosting destination events to include UnPlugged, Innovate Downtown, Bites N Sips, Artoberfest, and Downtown in December. In addition wellness events were established to include Sunset Yoga, Savor the Notes, and the Farmer's Market. Staff to re-evaluate the strategy to relaunch events post COVID.

Going forward this initiative will be incorporated into the Communal Gathering in the Downtown in FY22.
